Snacks
Koska Halva Pistachio Tahini I get this from Samir’s in Syracuse. A lot of halwa (pronounced hal-vah) tastes perfumey or just overloaded with chocolate. This brand is a sweet success.
Finn Crisp Multigrain Thin Crisps From Finland, these are a crunch-lovers dream. With the tartness of rye, these are the perfect replacement for a potato chip addiction. So good with Nutella or Peanut Butter. They come in other varieties, too.
Mary’s Gone Crackers Any flavor of these seedy, super crunchy, all natural crackers is a treat.
Lundberg Rice Cakes Wild Rice, Brown Rice, Tamari and Seaweed, try them all. So much more delicate and quality-tasting than other brands I’ve tried.
Breakfast
Kashi Organic Promise Cinnamon Harvest Cereal This is an an amazing cereal with cinnamon from somewhere exotic, just a little bit of sweetness, and so much less artificial than most boxed cereals out there.
Kashi 7 Grain Flakes For all the Raisin Bran addicts out there, how about something with over half the sugar? I hope your grocery store has them, because Amazon doesn’t.
Peace Cereals by Golden Temple. These come in a variety of flavours, my favourite being the Raspberry Ginger Crisp. Dessert or breakfast? I still can’t decide. Oh, and healthy too, of course.
Teddie Peanut Butter I’ve tried a lot of natural peanut butters. I know I could grind my own nuts quite easily, but this is a do-it-yourself issue I’ve chosen to leave to the pros. I stumbled across this product on sale in an already cheap grocery store, and it’s the best price-for-quality ratio I’ve found yet.
Red River Cereal See my post on some amazing muffins made with this whole-grain Canadian cereal.
Health and Supplements
NOW Whey Protein Isolate Powder I’ve heard the superiority of this powder praised by many fitness and health professionals. I love the natural flavor, and the vanilla is not bad either. The quality is apparently top notch and the company has won many awards for their products.
